Clear and transparent from the outset.
Every engagement is different. ACME UNION works on a straightforward consulting rate, with the scope and level of support tailored to the matter at hand.
Before work commences, we establish a clear understanding of the engagement, the work required and the applicable fee structure. Our approach is built around transparency, so you understand how professional time will be charged and what to expect throughout the engagement.
Whether you require support with a specific matter, a defined project or ongoing consulting, the engagement is structured around the level of expertise and involvement required.

TAX AGENT SERVICES
ACME UNION is a consulting practice and is not a registered tax agent.
Where an engagement involves tax agent services, ACME UNION works under the supervision of the registered tax agent, supporting them in the delivery of services to their client.
The registered tax agent retains responsibility for the tax agent services provided, including the appropriate review and approval of work undertaken by ACME UNION.
ACME UNION is a consulting practice and does not provide tax agent services.
CONSULTING RATE
$290 + GST per hour
Our standard consulting rate applies to professional time undertaken as part of an engagement.
This may include consultations, meetings, research, document review, analysis, preparation of recommendations, correspondence, liaison with relevant parties and other professional work required in relation to the matter.
Where the scope can be reasonably determined in advance, an indication of anticipated professional fees can be provided before work commences.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
Every engagement begins with a confidential conversation.
The initial consultation allows Taras to understand the matter, establish the key circumstances and priorities, and determine where ACME UNION can provide the most appropriate support.
Consulting time is charged at the standard rate of $290 + GST per hour.
Following this conversation, Taras will discuss the recommended next steps and, where appropriate, the anticipated scope of the engagement.
CONSULTING ENGAGEMENTS
Depending on the nature and complexity of the matter, an engagement may involve a specific consultation or review, a defined project, or more extensive ongoing involvement.
Engagements may include:
ATO reviews, audits and enquiries
Taxation dispute resolution
Division 7A matters
Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
Research & Development (R&D)
Internal taxation reviews
Compliance reviews
Governance reviews
Operational and business health reviews
Risk assessment
Non-Tax Business Structuring
Strategic business consulting
Other complex taxation, regulatory or commercial matters
Professional time is charged at $290 + GST per hour, with the nature and scope of the engagement established before work commences.
Where circumstances change or a matter develops beyond the original scope, any material additional work will be discussed before proceeding.
ONGOING CONSULTING RETAINERS
For tax agents and businesses requiring regular access to ACME UNION, a limited number of ongoing consulting retainers are available.
A retainer provides a dedicated allocation of Taras’s consulting time each month, offering continuity, greater access and the confidence of knowing time has been reserved for your practice or business as matters arise.
Retainers may include regular consultations, review of client matters, strategic input, document review, research and ongoing consulting within the agreed scope.
4 HOURS PER MONTH
$1,160 + GST
8 HOURS PER MONTH
$2,320 + GST
12 HOURS PER MONTH
$3,480 + GST
Tailored arrangements can also be established where a different level of ongoing support is required.
To ensure each retainer client receives meaningful access and continuity, ACME UNION accepts a limited number of ongoing retainer engagements.
Retainer arrangements are subject to agreed scope, availability and engagement terms.
PROFESSIONAL TIME
Professional fees reflect the time required to undertake work in connection with an engagement.
This may include time spent:
Meeting or consulting with you
Reviewing documentation
Researching taxation, regulatory or commercial matters
Analysing information and circumstances
Preparing recommendations or written material
Corresponding with relevant parties
Attending meetings with external advisers or authorities
Undertaking work directly related to the engagement
This ensures fees reflect the professional work actually undertaken rather than applying a standard package to matters that may vary considerably in complexity.
EXTERNAL COSTS & DISBURSEMENTS
Where an engagement requires external professional services, valuations, specialist reports, searches, travel or other third-party expenses, these costs are separate from ACME UNION’s professional fees.
As part of our commitment to transparency, any additional external costs will always be discussed with you and agreed upon before they are incurred. There will be no unexpected third-party costs added to your account.
INVOICING & PAYMENT
Professional fees are invoiced in accordance with the agreed engagement structure.
Invoices will identify the professional services provided and applicable GST. Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date.
For ongoing or extended engagements, ACME UNION may issue progress invoices at appropriate stages rather than waiting until completion of the matter.
Retainer arrangements are invoiced in accordance with the agreed monthly terms.
Any engagement-specific billing arrangements will be discussed and agreed before work commences.
FEE REVIEW
ACME UNION may review and update its consulting rates from time to time. Any change to the applicable rate will be communicated in advance and will not be applied retrospectively to professional services already provided.
Where an ongoing engagement or retainer is affected by a change in rates, the revised rate will be advised before it takes effect.
